Dazomet
Dazomet was rapidly degraded in soil affording MITC as the major degradation product in amounts up to 52.5% AR in soil after 2 days. 2 potential intermediates along the pathway form dazomet to MITC were identified as the thiazolidine derivatives TDL-S and TDL-SO (max level of 16.9% AR at day 0). MITC is further transformed (DT50 = 7.1 days) to CO2 and incorporated into the bound residues. The mineralization rate reached a maximum level of 37.8 %AR after 51 days, at the end of the incubation. Beside CO2, MITC was also found in the volatile fraction at maximum level of 6.3% AR at day 3. Several other unidentified peaks were found at individual level less than 5%AR Bound residues were found at maximum level of 28% after 51 days.
