Thiobencarb
Mean recovery over the duration of the study was 92%. Alkaline extraction of the bound residue released >60% such that less than 9% of applied AR was left bound. Fractionation of the alkaline extract showed that approx. 6% of the extract was particulate (isolated as a pellet) 25-37% was organic soluble and 39-48% was aqueous soluble. All fractions contained <10% AR. 14CO2 was the major degradation product representing 42.6% applied radioactivity (AR), the majority being evolved in the first 200 days. Six metabolites and their maximum percentage of the applied dose are: thiobencarb sulfoxide (5.4%), 4-chlorobenzylmethyl sulfoxide (1.9%), 3-hydroxythiobencarb (1.3%), 4-chloromethylbenzyl sulfone (1.3%), 2-hydroxythiobencarb (0.8%), and 4-chlorobenzoic acid (0.6%). No volatile compounds were detected.
