Under aerobic conditions, phenmedipham was moderately fast degraded, with a half-life between 5 and 135 days. The mineralisation was mostly moderate with around 25% AR. Phenmedipham degraded into two metabolites, MHPC and APMP, of which MHPC was a major metabolite. MHPC degraded relatively rapid further with a half-life between less than a day and 15 days. APMP degraded as well quickly further with a half-life between 20 to 40 days. Other formed minor metabolites were 3-[(methoxycarbonyl)amino]phenyl(3-hydroxyphenyl)carbamate, m-toluidine and m-aminophenol. The only known half-life of one of them (m-toluidine) indicates a very quick degradation, with a half-life shorter than a day.
