Pirimicarb
The route and rate of aerobic degradation of parent pirimicarb in the laboratory in the dark has only been determined in 3 soils, instead of the four specified. The studies were carried out at 20 C 2 C and 71-75% field moisture capacity at 1/3 bar. An anaerobic study was also performed at 20 C 2 C, as were degradation studies on major metabolites. The studies were run for up to 372 days, well in excess of the SETAC recommended maximum of 120 days. However, the applicant stated that adequate microbial activity was maintained throughout the test period. Four major metabolites (>10% AR) were identified. Of these, only R031805 was present at >10% of AR beyond 14 days in Visalia and Hyde Farm soil. R034865 and R031805 were present at >10% beyond 14 days in 18 Acres soil. Low mineralisation occurs at up to 3.0% AR at 112 days. Unextractable residues account for up to 14.9% AR (at 84 days).
