Propamocarb hydrochloride
Propamocarb HCl degradation investigated in the two studies showed that the test substance was quickly metabolised by microorganisms commonly encountered in the soil environment. The principal product of metabolism was 14CO2. Unidentified intermediate metabolic products were also detected in small amounts but did not accumulate, as they underwent further degradation at least as rapidly as the parent compound. The lack of degradation in soil after deactivation of an otherwise “metabolically” active soil by heat sterilization illustrates that soil microorganisms primarily mediate the degradation of Propamocarb HCl in soil.
