Prosulfocarb
Degradation of prosulfocarb in soil is biotic. Photochemical transformation is not an important route. The Notifier presented a pathway for degradation of prosulfocarb including microbial oxidation to prosulfocarb sulfoxide followed by rapid mineralization via a range of transient intermediates to carbon dioxide. Prosulfocarb sulfoxide reached a maximum of 7% of the applied radioactivity at 18 days in the aerobic degradation study (McGahen L. L., 1987a), and thereafter declined to 3% by 96 days. All other radiolabelled degradates which could be resolved chromatographically accounted for less than 1% of the applied radioactivity.
