Metam (sodium)
The active substance metam-sodium and its major volatile metabolite MITC are rapidly degraded at 20°C, with a mean DT50 of, respectively 10 minutes and 2.15 days. At 10°C, the degradation rates are 20 minutes and 8.31 days respectively for the a.s. and MITC. Mineralization reaches a maximum level 45.96-86.25% AR after incubation for 21 days at 20°C Bound residue levels are in the range of 9.88-38.38% AR after incubation for 21 days at 20°C. Bound residue in two soil samples incubated for 21 days are containing 8.51-29.76 %AR as humin, 3.49-3.32% AR as fulvic acid and 1.09-0.15%AR as humic acid.
