Ethofumesate
In the aerobic metabolism ethofumesate was generally moderately degraded with a half-life around 10-140 days. The mineralization to CO2 was high with a few minor exceptions with a moderate mineralisation. The main degradation products were carbon dioxide and non-extractable residues. The three metabolites NC20645, NC8493 and NC9607 were detected in minor amounts only (< 5% AR). The degradation of the metabolites was fast with a half-life of less than 3 hours. This fast degradation is in line with the very low occurrence of ethofumesate in the aerobic soil metabolism study. The behaviour of both enantiomers of ethofumesate was exemplarily investigated under laboratory conditions in soil and water/sediment. The study indicates that the degradation is not enantioselective.
