Thifensulfuron-methyl
Under aerobic conditions, thifensulfuron-metyhl was rapidly degraded, with a half-life between 4-6 days based on one study. Thifensulfuron-methyl was mineralised to a large extent (up to 50%). Ten metabolites were formed of which Thifensulfuron acid (IN-L9225), Triazine amine (IN-A4098) and O-demethyl-Thifensulfuron-methyl (IN-L9226) were accounted as major metabolites. Three other metabolites, namely O-desmethyl thifensulfuron acid (IN-JZ789), 2-acid-3-triuret and 2-Acid-3-sulfonamide (IN-L9223) reached trigger criteria concentrations (>10% single time point, >5% on two consecutive time points or >5% at the end of the study). Metabolites that are not drawn as part of the pathway, have been observed in degradation studies but have not been included in any suggested pathways.
